Sam Peter Jackson was born in Germany in 1978.
He trained as an actor at the Central School of Speech and Drama and as a writer on the Royal Court Young Writers Programme.
After various roles in the theatre and on TV (most notably as Richard Sonnenfeldt in Channel 4’s Bafta-winning ‘Nuremberg’) he wrote ‘Minor Irritations’ in 2005, which became the first play to receive the Pleasance Theatre's Charlie Hartill Special Reserve. It was performed to critical acclaim in Edinburgh, London, Guildford (Yvonne Arnaud) and Dublin, where he was nominated for the 2006 Oscar Wilde Award for Writing.
His second play ‘Public Property’ ran at the Trafalgar Studios in London's West End and was nominated as Best New Comedy in the 2010 WhatsOnStage Awards.
It starred Nigel Harman, Robert Daws and Steven Webb and was directed by Hanna Berrigan.
His short plays include ‘Icarus’ (Manhattan Theater Source NYC @ Britbits 7), ‘Charity’ and ‘Where I Used To Live’ (both produced by The Factory for Round 1 & 2, at the Pleasance Theatre, Electricity Showrooms and the Hampstead Theatre, London).
Most recently Sam co-wrote and presented the Channel 4 documentary “The Other Michael Jackson: Battle of the Boogie” about his father singer/songwriter Mick Jackson.
Sam is natively bilingual (English/German) and regularly works as a voice over artist in both languages. He is also an occasional columnist and has written editorials for WhatsOnStage, Beige Magazine and The Drama Student.
